J. D. Fowler, a Baltimore native, is the President and CEO of J.D. Fowler Production, including J.D. Fowler Multimedia Network Inc. He is  a playwright, actor, composer, musician, producer, director, singer, radio, and television personality. He has written, produced, directed, and starred in more than fifteen productions. He has hosted the hit cable television shows SPREAD THE NEWS & GOSPEL HORIZONS.

He has served as Program and Music Director of WEBB-AM radio station, Gospel Division and Program and Music producer of WJRO-AM radio station, where he transformed the station from a daytime only folk music format, to a 24-hour Christian/ Gospel station in Glen Burnie, MD. He has also served as producer and host of “In Search of Greater Faith” radio broadcast at WLNO-AM radio in New Orleans, LA and producer and host of Morgan City, Louisiana's top radio station KBZE-FM,” Breakfast with the Bishop”. He has performed with such renowned gospel singers as Shirley Caesar, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Famed Hawkins Family, John P. Kee, The Clark Sisters, The Williams Brothers, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, The late Albertina Walker, The late Rev. James Cleveland, Vickie Winans, Bobby Jones, Douglas Miller, Tramaine Hawkins, The Clara Ward Singers, The Greene Sisters, and many, many others. He has been blessed to share the stage, representing the Lord, and spreading the Gospel, with such notables as Patti LaBelle, Dionne Warwick, Diahann Carroll, Lena Horne, Ann Margaret, Stephanie Mills, Jennifer Holiday, Billy Davis Jr. Marilyn McCoo, Pat Boone, Jayne Kennedy, The Alvin Ailey Dancers, The late David Peaston, and Bob Hope. He has traveled across this country and throughout various foreign countries and has performed at the World-Famous Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans, LA and at the Famed Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

His stage productions include “Can’t No Grave Hold My Body Down©” which became a great success in the Maryland, D.C. & Virginia Metropolitan areas and then became a touring production and packed several different primary and secondary venues for several years. “Don't Mess with Jesus©” also with the graces of God, became another success story, which starred motion picture actor Leon Isaac Kennedy and Lynette Hawkins Stephens, of the gospel famed Edwin Hawkins singers, “In Love with the Wrong Man” which starred hit makers, such as, recording artist, Tanya Blount from Sister Act II with Whoopi Goldberg and the late David Peaston, award winning singer from Showtime at the Apollo, became another great success and “The Gospel According to Baltimore”, which played to a sold-out crowd recognizing and honoring Baltimore’s finest in gospel music. “Thank God for Mama” which has toured several states, and continues to mount the stage, has been highly rated by many as another smash hit." His current production “GO BACK AND GET GOD” which played on stage in New York City, off Broadway, to overwhelming crowds, is returning to stages across America, after a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. J.D.
